When the sun rises on July 11 at the beautiful Hilo Yacht Club, nearly 200 volunteers will be busy setting up the 13th Annual Hilo Brewfest… the Rotary Club of Hilo’s signature fundraising event. Each year nearly 1000 attendees arrive to sample over 70 kinds of beer from local, statewide, and mainland brewers. Party time begins at 1pm for VIP ticket holders and 2pm for regular tickets. Ono-licious food samplings complement some rockin’ live bands as beer tasters stroll the ocean side grounds. And it’s all for “doing good”! This year’s beneficiaries include the Hawaii Family Medicine Residency training, help for East Hawaii abused and neglected children, support for doggie rescue operations, and ongoing meal support for recovering adults. An additional40% of the proceeds supports the Club’s outreach locally and internationally. Tickets may be purchased at hilobrewfest.com.
